ON THE ROAD
Stephen Bell
In the plans of the Lord, the meeting with the folks in Cherokee NC did not work out. Brother Kenny Nations, who had been without work in the logging and lumber business, had a job come up that prevented us from getting together. I felt the Holy Spirit telling me this the night before at the Beutels in Blue Ridge.
I did not find this out until I was half way to Cherokee, so I asked the Lord to tell me what this was all about. His response was to remind me I had been ministering late for four evenings during the week, and He wanted to take the time and rest. "Where?" I asked.
It's another story how He led me to Maggie Valley, NC and to a lodging place owed by a zealous brother in the Lord. Actually, I passed the place three times and drove thirty miles away before turning back because of a strong impression by the Holy Spirit. The brother's place called Smokey Falls Inn was covered with logs and next to a little river. I had no idea about the place and situation until I checked in. It was extra clean and comfortable and had a rocking chair out by the door where I could sit and look at the mountains across the road. Thank you, Father.
I am writing this little update on Jimmy McCollum's computer Asheville, NC where he has just fed me a special meal with roast lamb. (He's a great cook for a single guy). We are going to spend time together before I get back on the road toward Blue Ridge GA. Again, according the impressions of the Holy Spirit, I felt to cancel my meeting with Brother Gordon Powlenson and not spend the night here in Asheville.
The Lord has been leading me day by day on this trip, and I know, He has His reasons for the changing of my plans.
Several people are planning to be with us tomorrow night in Blue Ridge at the Beutels'. In fact, Nicki Nations said she would try to come down from Cherokee since we could not get together there.
I did drive through Chreokee and a short way in to the National Park. I felt to just drive around a bit, pray and move on. There is still much heaviness there what with the casino and such. I will share an amazing story about Amerindians some time soon. This story took place in Euless.
Thank you, for your prayers. Pray for the house church that has formed in Blue Ridge and that others will find their way there. You can reach the Beutels at (706) 258-4563 if you are interested in meeting with them or receiving some ministry. We plan to meet Monday evening at about seven.
That's about it for now.
I will have more with photos when I get home which will be Tuesday afternoon, the Lord willing.
Blessings to you all!
Steve
