THE HEAT IS ON
Here in northeast Texas, the heat outside has come early, but inside (even with air conditioning) we have been experiencing that other kind of heat as the Lord turns-up the thermostat of our soul. Out of the scattered sheep, the Lord says two-thirds will be cut off, but one-third will be brought through the fire to be refined as silver and gold. (Zechariah 13:8-9) If we so commit, the Lord God will refine and test us in the furnace of affliction for His own sake. (Isaiah 48:10-11)

Overcomers cannot avoid the fire, knowing what it really means and does in their spiritual lives. Like Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, the furnace is where the cords that bind are burned-away, it is a environmental experience in time and space where we encounter the fourth person astonished Nebuchadnezzar saw when looking to see the fate of the three men of God who could not be destroyed. Like them, we can come out of our fiery furnace with no smell of smoke, no singed hair and receive a promotion (Daniel 3:19-30); otherwise, we can come out bitter and angry at God.
After some years of ministering to countless souls, I have become acutely aware of the remnant. Zechariah speaks of the third that comes out of the already pruned and scattered sheep, which shall not be cut off and die. This reduces the remnant to small number (like Gideon’s army trimmed to 300 from 32,000). Even some of the third do not make it through the fire, abdicating, because they find it too hard. Obviously, the Lord God is not into the numbers game.
Yes, the heat is on, so it’s time to “suck it up” and stand, and having done all, STAND! We have armor we can put on, but we still must consider and deal with what’s inside the camp—the fifth column where insidious and invisible unclean spirits that have wrecked havoc within the church and Christian souls. Yes, the Greater One is within us, but that does not automatically guarantee we employ His power. Other familiar spirits surreptitiously influence us and with stealth influence our feelings, thinking, decisions, judgments and speaking. Unforgiving and bitter spirits will bias us to misjudge people; the spirits of fear will control our goings and coming; and so on.
So Jesus came casting demons out of the sheep of the house of Israel, because He saw and knew where the enemy was hiding and residing (Jesus said they call our bodies their house). Satan outside of people was of no consequence to Jesus’ ministry. It was the demons within individuals, especially the religious ones, that had the ability to crucify Him; therefore, Jesus demonstrated, taught, ministered, gave authority and commanded His disciples to cast out demons. It is an imperative of the Kingdom of God. It is vital to victory and essential to our conquest.
No, deliverance is not the only thing, but it is an indispensible ministry in the church and Kingdom that has not only been disregarded and abandoned, but also evaded and avoided. Without deliverance from demonic influences, we cannot hope to come to maturity and full stature of the Christ. Yes, we stand on the promises of God, but we also must execute or appropriate them.
Calls and e-mails are coming to us from believers who have come to discern the effect of unclean spirits in their lives. Some cannot sleep; some feel tight bands around their heads; some are practically immobilized with fear; some have entities come to their beds and actually have sexual contact with them; some feel invisible hands touching their bodies; some are disabled with indefinable emotions; the testimonies would be inconceivable if I had not heard similar ones so many times before—and these confessions are from believers—Christians.
Most have sought spiritual help only told to go pray, read the Bible, go to church and the problem will go away. Well, it doesn’t work that way. Aggressive prayer is needed and required. Some demons must be confronted and told to leave—sometimes with great vehemence. The door of their entry often needs to be found and shut. Other external issues might need to be addressed. We must leave no stone unturned until we achieve victory and peace; after all, we have been given the authority over ALL the power of the enemy.
Let’s appropriate and use it!

Recently I was ministered to by a well known and very competent minister of deliverance. It was not more than 4 or 5 days later that a very godly person, who receives regular revelation from God, who endeavors to be transparent and quickly confess and repent when convicted by the Holy Spirit, who is an avid reader and student of the Bible and excellent teacher thereof -- interpreted a dream in a way that (when I heard the interpretation) devastated me. When I went back to the minister of deliverance and counseled with him about the incident, he believed that the person who did the interpretation was the one who "sinned" against me, in that he did not use wisdom, discernment or caution in how I would receive that interpretation. All this to say that godly people sin, godly people have demons, godly people need help. Peter made the most profound revelatory declaration of any of the disciples proclaiming Jesus as the Christ, but in a few days/weeks he was called Satan by his Lord. This should be an eye opener for all of us.Posted by James on June 15, 2010
To be a disciple of Jesus means to obey HIM and follow His teachings and instructions (MATT 28:20). I was always taught that the "red letters" in the Bible were of Christ. If that be true, and it is, then WHY oh WHY do the churches and their leaders not follow the teachings of the One they profess to know as found in MATT 10:1-8? For a number of years I have pondered that situation and when I ask a pastor or member of certain churches why they do not follow these instructions the usual answer is "those things have been done away with"., etc, et al. Demons manifest in churches and the person is quickly escorted out and away. Jesus never did that. He confronted. Many people are being devoured by demons and thankfully many are coming to see they need help. You say that aggressive prayer is a must, I agree, but there is much to do that is beyond just prayer. The demons must be confronted, as Jesus confronted them, and believers need to realize this now and stop the madness going on.Lives are being ruined, marriages tumble, children rebel, sickness is rampant...an endless list of the results of not confronting the demonic issues. Wake up church, wake up people, these things have "not been done away with", they are real. God bless those who minister deliverance in the overall ministry of knowing Christ and the freedom He gives to those who seek it. Praise God for the work of KEY Ministries and its people.Posted by Mary on June 15, 2010
I agree. Praise God for the body at the Key. Praise God that He is preparing a people of truth that are living walking truth with pure hearts. Praise God for the work of the Holy Spirit because we could never change our hearts, or our ways, He is the only one that can do it. Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Gal 3:3 I have to know and trust that the Lords words are true. He has begun a work in me and will continue. His blood is speaking better things on my behalf. and yours too if you can believe.Posted by Mary on June 17, 2010
1 “People know where to mine silver and how to refine gold. 2 They know where to dig iron from the earth and how to smelt copper from rock. 3 They know how to shine light in the darkness and explore the farthest regions of the earth as they search in the dark for ore. 4 They sink a mine shaft into the earth far from where anyone lives. They descend on ropes, swinging back and forth. 5 Food is grown on the earth above, but down below, the earth is melted as by fire. 6 Here the rocks contain precious lapis lazuli, and the dust contains gold. 7 These are treasures no bird of prey can see, no falcon’s eye observe. 8 No wild animal has walked upon these treasures; no lion has ever set his paw there There is a place a higher realm we could walk in that Jesus has revealed to us that is unseen to the bird of prey, no wild animal can walk there a place in the heavenlies where there is no attachment to the earthly realm. The process is on.....He is establishing His overcommers
