Our Can do God

It was Jesus who said, “With God all things are possible,” and certainly He ought to know.

Most Christians, like me, have heard this quoted hundreds of times not thinking how such a statement is beyond comprehension of our carnal, finite minds.

As I was praying for some physical healing a few days ago, not really understanding what I was dealing with, the thought came to me that maybe I should seek the help of a medical doctor to diagnose the problem. Seems like a reasonable thing to do, but like so many things we have available in our lives in this modern society, there's always a catch.

I know and have seen that Satan can cause healing, and I also know that in such a case there is a trade-off. When someone has received such healing, which is a work of witchcraft, they always eventually end up with something worse. As the old saying goes, you don't get something for nothing.

So, as I was praying and seeking the Lord for some relief, a tremendous thought came to me: there is nothing that our minds can conceive that God can't do. In fact, when our carnal minds begin to attempt to comprehend God and the spiritual realm, we quickly find our inability to discover and understand such infinity. The only thing God can't do is break his Word or his promises. God has made the promises, so he takes the responsibility, totally, to keep them.

Brother Paul in first Corinthians makes it clear that our carnal minds believe such matters are foolish and therefore incomprehensible; on the other hand, the mind of Christ through the Holy Spirit affirms what Jesus said: there's not anything that God can’t do. There's no problem, no sickness, no need so great that God can't handle including any of my problems and yours.

It's not a diagnosis that we need. We simply need to believe our heavenly father's promises and without doubt know that he keeps them and we can't.

What a relief!
